Dr. Elizabeth Muss, one of approximately 20 female adult cardiologist's in private solo practice in NYC, is a strong advocate of education for a healthy heart. This translates to prevention beginning at the age of 18-20 as an adult, the reason why as a cardiologist Dr. Muss practices primary care in addition to her specialty of cardiology. 

 

It turns out that 90% of the "primary care" patients are cardiac with hypertension, high cholesterol, and are either overweight or smoke.
 

A graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Muss has been in practice 30 years. She holds the teaching appointment of Assistant Clinical Professor at Weill Cornell Medical Center. She is an Assistant Attending Physician at Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center, an associate attending physician at Beth Israel Medical Center and a cardiac consultant at HSS Hospital for special surgery.

 

Dr. Muss earned her Diploma in Cardiovascular Disease in 1977 and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.She is a member of the New York Cardiology Society and the Society of Valvular Heart Disease.
